 TOA (warrior)

Here I offer my handmade Tribal Bone pendants and carvings based on the cultural designs of the New Zealand Maori with my own stylized twist and creativeness. Each piece is carved by a me (Marcus), a New Zealand born Maori artist.
I carve many different pieces and designs. They are mostly based on elements found in Maori art form, the flowing lines to represent those found in nature and all around us as well as mythological guardians of the Sky, Earth and Sea each one has its own essence and Mana (pride, spirit).

Now for a little history on the Maori:
The Maori expressed their stories, legends and desires according to their carvings. Each form has a symbolic character. A Taonga (treasure) was normally passed down to future generations in the belief that the wearer's spirit was contained in the piece.
